I wanted to share a couple of outfits we bought for our baby boy while in Maui.

Baby Love - Week 23

How Far Along: 23 Weeks
Size of Baby: Baby is about 8 inches long and weighs a little more than a pound
Total Weight Gain:  12lbs
Maternity Clothes: Still making due with my normal clothes and the assistance of the belly band
Gender: Its a Boy!
Movement: He seems to be moving and kicking a bit more frequently this past week.  Dan was even able to feel him move.
Sleep: It could be better....
Food Cravings: No major cravings.  I did enjoy all the yummy food we ate in Hawaii though
What I Miss: Sushi and mixed drinks by the pool....all the things Dan was able to enjoy on our trip..
Symptoms: Leg cramps
Best Moment This Week: Spending a week in Hawaii for sure.  It was great to get a way for a few days, enjoy the warm weather and relax by the pool.

Baby Love - Week 22

How Far Along: 22 Weeks
Size of Baby: Baby is about 10 inches long and weighs a little more than 12 ounces, the size of a spaghetti squash
Total Weight Gain:  12lbs
Maternity Clothes: Still making due with my normal clothes and the assistance of the belly band
Gender: Its a boy!
Movement: Still fluttering, no major kicks yet....too bad since Dan hasn't been able to feel him more around
Sleep: If I could stop going to the bathroom even half the time I might be able to sleep better
Food Cravings: I don't feel that I have really intense cravings, I just enjoy certain foods more than others...With that said we made a stop at a bakery on Sunday and I absolutely enjoyed all 5 pastries we picked out.
What I Miss: I would love a cold beer....and some good cold medicine.  I learned this past week how awful it is to be sick while pregnant, you are unable to take any of the medicine that actually works.  Luckily drinking extra juice and trying to get more rest seemed to do the trick after a week.
Symptoms: I've been feeling pretty good this week.
Best Moment This Week: Having my dad and sister in town for a few days.  Also, getting my diaper bag and a onesie I ordered online.
What I Am Looking Forward To: Hawaii!! The only thing I am not looking forward to is leaving my Toshi dog :(  I know he will be in good hands but I hate leaving him for almost a week.

A couple of things to start with

The first baby items have arrived!  The first thing I did once we found out we we had a healthy baby boy was purchase an adorable onesie online.  I had my eye on this onesie for about a month now.  I noticed it on one of the Shiba blogs that Toshi dog follows.  I couldn't help but buy it since it represented Toshi and a portion of the sale goes to the New York Shiba Rescue.

The next gift that arrived was from my sister and mom.  I am super excited about this diaper bag, they managed to snatch this up during an amazing online sale.  I can't wait to start using it!

Since my dad and sister were here this past weekend they also bought some adorable outfits for baby boy.  There's too many to post online but he is going to look adorable that's for sure :)

Sleep: Not too bad this week

Gender Reveal Story

Post Disclaimer:  This may be a bit long.....

For those who do not know we learned on Friday that we are expecting a baby boy!  Dan and I are beyond thrilled and cannot wait to meet the little guy :)  I know some of you may know that we were planning on waiting until our Hawaii trip to open the gender envelope, however it seems we were meant know a bit sooner...

Our 20 week ultrasound was scheduled for Friday.  We informed the technician that we are going to Hawaii in two weeks and would like to wait to find out the gender until that time.  She said its not a problem and made sure we turned away from the screen while she checked the gender portion of the scan.  The rest of the ultrasound went perfectly, she printed out some pictures to take home and we headed back to the waiting room for our appointment with the doctor.  After a bathroom break for me I headed back to sit with Dan and check out our baby pictures, at this time the technician came back out worried that she gave us the gender picture by accident.  I informed her that she did not and she handed us the sealed envelope.  Friday was a perfect day weather wise.  We stopped for some tacos after our appointment, which Dan practically swallowed whole.  At the time I didn't think anything of it, for those that know him he pretty much loves tacos more than anything else.  We then headed over to the beach to enjoy the warm weather.  As we are sitting on a rock Dan then says that we should open the envelope.  I was pretty surprised, I thought if anything it would be me telling him I cant wait to find out.  After double checking that he was sure about five times I opened it to reveal we were having a baby boy.  At the same time he pulled out 2 ultrasound pictures from his pocket that said "I'm a boy!"  Apparently out technician did give him the gender photos, he realized this when I went to the restroom but did not want to reveal it to me in a waiting room full of people.  That's also the reason why he ate his tacos so fast, he didn't want to keep the secret longer than he had to.  Looking back we are super excited we now know its a boy and figure if anything we have a funny story to tell regarding his gender reveal.  We always wanted it to be this really special moment.  This is one we will definitely never forget  On a side note, once our technician went over the gender portion she went from say "the baby" to " him or his"  I kept looking at Dan during this time to see if i was really hearing this, although he had no reaction and still says he didn't catch that, I am positive she said it about 4 or 5 times.  A special note to my Rhode Island family and friends, patriot items are completely welcomed!  Just don't tell Dan I said so ;)

Pregnancy Craving, Fail.

I like to think that I haven't been that difficult with cravings through out this pregnancy.  I have never made Dan go out late at night, or had to stop immediately for something I was craving.  Everything I gravitate towards as far as food goes has been pretty manageable.  Earlier this week things slightly changed.  It was about 3:30 when I started craving a chocolate milkshake.  At first I tried to forget about it, but the more I thought about it, the better it sounded.  Once I left work at 4pm I pretty much convinced myself I should stop and get one on my way home.  Now this is the first time in 20 weeks that I actually made a big effort to satisfy a craving.  Since there is a McDonald's right across from our house it seemed super feasible.  I made it to the drive-thru, placed my order and even paid, which made me think my chocolate milkshake was guaranteed.  I pulled up to the final window and the employee told me my milkshake would be just a minute.  He came back after a minute or so only to inform me that the milkshake machine was broken......Really?!?! I still cant understand how the milkshake machine at a busy McDonald's was broken, especially on the one day that i decided to give into a craving.  My only other option was go through the trouble of getting my money back or get a fruit smoothie.  I settled for the fruit smoothie hoping the slushy texture would match what I was looking for with the milkshake, it did not, however the smoothie was surprisingly good.  Dan did make me a chocolate milkshake later that night, however I don't think I can trust McDonald's when another craving comes along.
